I think I have a fix for you and it's free. Drill a hole at the red dot in the picture and another opposite of the hole the wire is coming out of ( a total of 3 holes). Route the wire in the pipe though hole 1 (bottom hole), out hole #2, back in hole#3 and out hole #4. The tighten the plug. Repeat for the other wire.

WOW! I feel honored by your post. I needed to get my light up quick, so on Thursday I stopped by OSH and picked up a two chains and S-hooks. It's a temporary solution because S-hooks are sooo hard to work with, and the light is heavy. It's almost a 2 person job to adjust the light now. I'm going to pass you suggestion on to the handyman hubby in hopes of a more permanent, easier solution. Thanks, DaBeardedOne!
