I checked the turnip on Thursday, it was 2 inches or so in diameter. Checked it again Saturday, it's 4 inches, argh. There it is, all washed up, ready to go in the house.
That is a 15oz can next to it for size comparison. It's the only turnip to reach maturity, the others were either bug food or didn't grow. I will try some more in a few months, maybe the bugs will let me harvest a few.

She's a beauty! Too bad the others didn't grow, but I do think we have fewer problems with the bugs in our fall veggies. About the time we're crying over powdery mildew on our squash and cukes, the beets and carrots decide to reward us with some extra goodness.
oops, forgot to put the weight down, it tipped the scale at.... 526 grams, that's 1 lb 2.5 oz, a BIG sucka.
It's a beast! Fantastic and kudos!
No that, my good man, is worthy of the name "Turnip".
Now that is a prize turnip for sure! Congratulations. It looks a lot healthier than some of my veggies. my beets are beat...my onions aren't trying hard enough....its hard growing so you've done a great job!
